Steve McDonald and drunken Becky prepare to marry on Friday 13th

Steve McDonald has the kind of sexual CV that makes Russell Brand look like a boy scout.

But ask any of his multitude of ex-wives, fiancés, girlfriends and one-night stands why their relationships have failed, and the answer will always been the same he's a feckless philanderer who lacks commitment.

So as he prepares to get married for the fourth time on Friday 13th, the omens aren't good - particularly as bride Bolshy Becky is so aggressive she could even floor tough guy Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler.

"I'm mad as a bag of walnuts," she tells Steve on Monday, although there's really no need.

"If I go on a hen night, it'd be like Armageddon. I'd be wrecked and next morning, if I weren't in jail, I'd be in no fit state to marry you... I won the Lottery wi'you. I'm not gunna lose the ticket."

Famous last words. For the happy couple discover that there's a book in The Rovers on whether they'll make it down the aisle - with Steve's mum Liz, best man Lloyd, battleaxes Blanche and waster Eddie Windass placing bets.

A furious Steve bans everybody except Hayley, Roy and his daughter Amy as flower girl from the wedding. And he makes an impassioned speech in defence of Becky.

With Simon Gregson as gormless groom Steve and Katherine Kelly playing the brilliantly over-the-top Becky, Friday turns into a memorable wedding day for all the wrong reasons.

Wearing a ridiculous dress and tiara that make even Katie price look demure, Becky goes on a drunken rampage that involves her ex Jason and glugging champagne on the factory roof.

It's a hilarious comedy of mishaps.

And when the couple do come to say their vows at the Register Office, she's not just off her face but off this planet as she's taken short.

"I'll just nip and strain me spuds, I'm bursting," she slurs.

"One minute."

But it's what happens next that is so surprising...
