Jade's lips turned blue

/ On : martes, marzo 03, 2009/
TRAGIC Jade Goody's lips went blue as she suffered a terrifying "shuddering" attack after her operation last night.

The 27-year-old star underwent emergency surgery at London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospital to help relieve agonising stomach pains.

She complained she was in terrible pain and reacted badly following the procedure, according to close friend Kevin Adams who was at her bedside.

Kevin said: -At about 3.30 or 4am she had a reaction and was just shuddering. She was so cold. The nurse came in with some blankets. The nurse got the doctor by which time Jade’s lips had started to go blue.

"The doctor came in and was really calm so Jade started to calm down as well.

-The doctor said it could have been a reaction to the four pints of blood she received during the operation or she could have had an infection before, but it will clear itself.

Kevin said the operation has helped relieve Jade’s pain: -On a scale of one to ten her pain was a sharp ten, and now she is down to a six this morning.

"She is fine, she had a meeting with the doctors that then told her the operation had been successful. That was good news.

Kevin added that despite Jade’s severe illness, she has maintained a sense of humour and positive attitude since being diagnosed.

He said: -You always have a good time, no matter what you are doing. There is constant banter with Jade."

The Big Brother star suffered her darkest day yesterday knowing her terminal cancer is now rampaging uncontrollably throughout her body.

It emerged last night her cancer has spread to her BRAIN.

The terminal disease, which started in the Big Brother star’s cervix last year, had already been found in her liver, groin and bowel.

A tearful family friend revealed yesterday: -Jade was told while in a hospice at the weekend that the cancer was travelling freely in her blood and had spread to her brain.

-This is, of course, awful but not unexpected. She has already been told the disease is terminal.

-But by understanding how it is travelling in her body, the doctors have a chance of giving her the right medication to control the pain.

This hasn’t shortened her life expectancy, which remains at weeks. But of course it is another extremely painful reminder of what lies ahead.
Blockage

-Jade still wants to go home, but won’t until she can be given the correct medication to make her condition bearable. She doesn’t want to see her kids upset.

When cancer reaches the brain, symptoms can include frequent fits, excruciating headaches, vomiting and nausea. Patients also feel confused and exhausted.

The tragic mum of two went in an ambulance with a police escort from the Royal Marsden Hospital in West London to the nearby Chelsea and Westminster yesterday.

She spent several hours undergoing tests at the hospital, which has a specialised oncology unit.

Then she was taken to the operating theatre last night for an hour-long operation to fix a blockage.

She has now been transferred back to the Royal Marsden for further treatment.

Jade, who wed hubby Jack Tweed, 21, only a week last Sunday, has already had a hysterectomy and an op to remove a golf-ball-sized tumour in her bowel.

And the new surgery came just two weeks after she endured painful chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Her spokesman Max Clifford said last night: -Jade was taken to the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital at lunchtime for a series of tests."

I gave the boys some friendship bracelets. I told them they should never take them off and, if they’re sad, missing their mum or upset, to rub them and think of me.
Despair

Jade offered her Essex house to husband Jack when she dies — but he refused because he would be looking for her in every corner.

Jack told last night of his despair at not being able to rush to Jade’s hospital bedside.

He spent the day facing an assault charge at Epping Magistrates’ Court in Essex.

And he had to be at his mum’s home by 7pm to meet a curfew condition of his early release from jail for a previous assault.

Visibly upset Jack, who is back in court today, said: -Of course I want to be there with her, for her. But I’ve no choice.

When asked if he thought the curfew should have been lifted so he could visit Jade, he shrugged and replied: What can I do? There’s nothing I can do.

AN internet firm has been accused of cashing-in on Jade Goody’s battle by selling signed copies of her autobiography for £1,000.

Essex-based Packet Post UK Ltd which sells on eBay, says it will donate £500 from each sale to Cancer Research.

But pals of the star say it is not enough. A source close to Jade said: -Some people are just sick.

-How can you take something so tragic and make money from it? They are just heartless, callous and greedy.

-They are making thousands from Jade’s illness and will probably make even more from her death.

But bosses at Packet Post claim Jade is milking her illness for every penny she can get.

A spokeswoman for the online firm said: -She has no dignity. She is exploiting herself for cash and we are only doing the same. We are not doing anything illegal.

Other online sales firms are charging up to 100 for books, photos and perfume.

Jade’s agent Max Clifford said: -Jade wants to make as much money as she can so her boys can have the best education and future.

-There has been a huge increase in the numbers of women going for a cervical smear test because of her.

-The online companies can only answer for themselves.
