Jade Goody looks like Sleeping Beauty, says grieving mum Jackiey

/ On : jueves, marzo 26, 2009/
Jade Goody’s grief-stricken mum lovingly dressed her daughter in her wedding dress yesterday in preparation for her funeral.

But after Jackiey Budden gazed at the brave mum-of-two lying in the chapel of rest, her spirits were lifted and she confided: “Jade looked so beautiful.

“She’s wearing her wedding dress. She looked like Sleeping Beauty.”

Jackiey, 50, was joined by Jade’s head bridesmaid Kate Jackson for the heart-rending visit.

And she was clearly moved by the massive number of flowers, teddy bears, candles and cards left by a steady stream of well-wishers.

She told Kate that the sheer volume of tributes had been overwhelming and a great source of strength.

Before seeing 27-year-old Jade...

...who finally lost her battle with cancer on Mother’s Day, Jackiey showed Kate around the tranquil memorial garden behind the undertakers’ parlour in Bermondsey, South East London.

She pointed out a spot where she hopes a memorial will be placed for Jade – just a short distance from where she grew up. Jackiey said: “This is just temporary. She’s going to be buried at the cemetery.” They were accompanied by a film crew making a documentary on Jade. As Kate left in floods of tears, she was comforted by Jackiey. Jade’s mum then met with undertakers for two hours to finalise plans for her daughter’s funeral on April 4.

Jade will be buried in the wedding dress and wearing her wedding ring.

Simon Albin, funeral director at F. A. Albin, said: “Jade is lying in the chapel of rest. It’s very peaceful and a quiet place where her family and friends can reflect. The interior has burgundy carpets and cream walls.

“There are sofas for visitors to sit so they can chat, reflect and talk to Jade.

“Jackiey is bearing up very well in what is a very difficult time for her.

“Jade’s grandad is also hoping to come and see Jade before the funeral.”

Friends have left dozens of flowers at Bermondsey market – known locally as The Blue – where Jade’s grandad John Caddock, 70, ran a stall.

When Jackiey returned to Jade’s home in Essex, she spent time reading some of the thousands of tributes left for her daughter.

Jade’s funeral will be held at St John the Baptist Church in Buckhurst Hill, Essex, where a book of remembrance to be opened for Jade.

Her body will be driven from the funeral parlour to her home in a cortege of black cars.
