Rihanna's boyfriend Chris Brown says sorry and adds he's getting counselling

The boyfriend of pop star Rihanna has said he's sorry and is seeking counselling after allegedly beating her up.

R&B singer Chris Brown, 19, was arrested following the bust-up before last weekend's Grammy awards.

Barbados-born Rihanna, 21 next Friday, went into hiding when she was left with a bloody nose, swollen lip and bruised face.

Brown said last night: "Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am about what transpired.

"I am seeking the counselling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person."

Earlier his dad Chris, 44, said: "He's remorseful. We all have our
shortcomings."
