ROB Knox's alleged killer muttered "yeah, sweet" when cops arrested him for murder, a court heard today. Jurors were told knifeman Karl Bishop showed no remorse and was more concerned about missing a Ricky Hatton fight when he was taken into custody.
PC Craig Reid claimed Bishop had begged police to protect him from a baying crowd after Harry Potter actor Rob was stabbed in May last year.
But he was “quite calm” when told of the teen's death, the officer said.
“There was no real reaction to being told that he was being arrested for murder,” he said. “There didn’t appear to be any remorse."
PC Reid said Bishop then later raised his voice to say: “Oh, f***’s sake, f****** hell, I’m going to miss the f****** Hatton fight, f****** hell.”
Tragic
Rob died after being stabbed five times outside the Metro bar in Sidcup, Kent, as he tried to protect his brother from the knifeman, the court has heard.
Bishop, 21, of Sidcup, denies murder and five charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to five other youths.
He claims he was acting in self-defence.
PC Reid said that when he and other officers arrived at the scene of the stabbing an angry crowd was throwing chairs, tables and bottles at him.
The officer heard one person shout: “He’s got two knives, he’s just stabbed someone, he’s just killed someone.”
On the pavement was a pool of blood “as big as my arms could stretch”, said the policeman, adding: “It was wet, fresh blood.”
Bishop, he said, “pleaded for us to get him out of the area”.
Later, PC Reid said the defendant told him: “You’ve only arrested me because I was the black one.
"There were no other black people there and, surprise, you’ve arrested me when I was the one getting attacked.”
Outside hospital in Sidcup when confronted by some of his alleged victims and their friends he threatened to rape members of their family, the officer added.
Bishop, who was being treated for cuts, was taken by ambulance to another hospital in Woolwich to get away from them.
According to PC Reid, he said: “Take me to f****** Belmarsh, I’m going down any way, just take me there now.
"I don’t mind, I get gym every day, meals, just take me there.”
